This installation runs an iOS app that I created called modello*. A modello is what italian painters called their sketches or proposals when working on large paintings. The installation reflects this artistic process by allowing a visitor to take a photo of themselves, or start from an existing image to see how the app interprets and creates new work.

A flower becomes a person, a person a flower. New generated images overwrite old ones, making the images ephemeral and fleeting.

These video sculptures can be set to run from any modern iOS device that can generate images using the modello*. It could be triggered by an iPhone that is on the same wireless network. This installation is an iPad mounted to the wall and the sculptures are physically connected using an ethernet cable that provides both power and a data connection to the iPad.

The artwork can be a single sculpture, any number of video sculptures, or even any video display that has an HDMI input port.
